Recently, Stanford University and the international academic publisher Elsevier released the 2025 list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists. The ranking includes two categories: the Career-long Impact and the Single-year Impact. From the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU), Chen Zhong, Qin Luping, and Parpura Vladimir were selected for the Career-long Impact. Meanwhile, Chen Zhong, Qin Luping, Parpura Vladimir, Cao Gang, Kai Guoyin, Zhang Qiaoyan, Wang Xingya, and Zhu Bo were named to the Single-year Impact.

The ranking, based on a comprehensive evaluation of nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, takes into account citation counts, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, and citations of papers as single or first author. Covering 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields, the Career-long Impact reflects a scholar’s impact across their academic career, while the Single-year Impact focuses on research impact over the past year. Selection signifies high international recognition and influence in respective fields.
In total, ZCMU has 5 scholars listed in the Career-long Impact and 12 scholars in the Single-year Impact. Of these, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences accounts for 60% of the university’s Career-long selections and 75% of its Single-year selections. This outstanding achievement highlights the exceptional research contributions and global academic influence of the School’s scholars, as well as the School’s success in building an internationally competitive, high-level faculty team.
